world premiere at the 31. German Prostestant Church Congress 2007 in Cologne
ABENDGLÜHEN is a work commissioned by the German Protestant Church to celebrate the 31st German Protestant Church Congress 2007 which took place in Cologne. The piece was premiered on the evening of the 6th of June after the evening blessing with about 1,800 brass players. These brass players were split into six groups, which positioned themselves on both sides of the river Rhine between the Hohenzollern Bridge and the Deutzer Bridge. Six conductors each led about 300 brass players from the different national committees.
